Atlanta Street Food Coalition
The Atlanta Street Food Coalition was founded in 2009 with one mission: campaigning for safe, affordable, and legal access to street food in the metro Atlanta area.
About
In 2009, Atlanta's vibrant culinary scene was missing a key ingredient. The Atlanta Street Food Coalition was founded to fill that void, establishing a movement dedicated to securing safe, legal, and affordable access to street food across the metro area. They became the leading voice for an emerging culture of mobile chefs and entrepreneurs, championing their cause and fighting for their place in the city’s economic landscape.
The Work
My studio, Lunch, partnered with the ASFC to give this new movement a digital home. We designed and built their original website, serving as both a public-facing platform and a critical operational hub. Our work included the implementation of a comprehensive back-end booking system and a dynamic event calendar, providing vendors with the essential tools they needed to manage their businesses and connect directly with the community.
Conclusion
By creating this foundational digital architecture, we helped catalyze a new industry, transforming the way food, commerce, and community intersect in Atlanta. The ASFC's success became a blueprint for urban entrepreneurial advocacy, proving that strategic design and technology can be the primary catalysts for civic and cultural change.
