Teaching
I have taught college students and media professionals the basics of podcasting, web design, email marketing, WordPress, and digital marketing.
I am also available to speak to K-12 schools, colleges and universities, as well as consult with your faculty and staff about curriculum or other outreach. Contact me and let’s talk.
I created and taught a variety of courses through Mediabistro from 2013-2016. These courses ranged a number of different topics: WordPress website development, creating a podcast, email marketing basics, digital marketing basics, and many others.
These courses were all taught online, including facilitating live discussions and holding office hours for students. My students were mostly media professionals who needed to add something new to their skill set, and at times included one-on-one training for additional help.
From 2010-2013, I taught a course titled Principles of Web Development (BIS 325) as part of DeVry University’s College of Business and Management. This four credit hour course included a lab, and I created curriculum, gave lectures, led discussions, and advised students on web development fundamentals.
This also involved equipping them with the business knowledge necessary to facilitate communication with design professionals, with a focus on maintaining a balance between technology and business strategy.
Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a private nonprofit art school with locations in Savannah, Georgia; Atlanta, Georgia; and Lacoste, France.
I taught a series of digital marketing workshops at SCAD in 2015. These one-off workshops were a partnership between Mediabistro and SCAD.
