Does Your College Major Matter? We Asked Seven Successful People (Lifehacker)

Maurice Cherry, designer and host of Revision Path:

I attended Morehouse College and I majored in mathematics. Yes, math is about trigonometry and calculus and all that sort of stuff, but above all, math teaches you how to think critically. Deduction, argumentation, analyzing, and other cognitive skills that I learned while studying have applied to several parts of my life and career. You learn how to infer, evaluate, justify, categorize, and decode all types of information to make sound decisions, whether that’s part of a design project or in everyday situations.
